Congratulations! We don’t have to tell you how big a step this is, but we are here to help you get the power you need. Follow these simple steps for starting residential or commercial electric service for new construction and you’ll be ready to go in no time.
Call the local Transmission & Distribution Service Provider (TDSP) to create an Electric Service Identifier (ESI ID) number.
If your project requires new construction by the TDSP, they will assist you in beginning that process.
Find out if the location needs a City or County permit to install service.
Once you have your ESI ID, give VOLT a call at (281) 369-5900 to begin enrollment.
Once you’re enrolled, we’ll schedule the start of your electricity service and send the start service order to your TDSP.
Meters are usually installed within 1-10 business days of the requested start date.
Once the meter is installed and service begins, you’re ready to go!
